From New York to Paris and everything in between fashion designers are now more than ever expanding their horizons and exploring fashion in different towns, cities and countries.
Janvi Ghatalia is one of these designers that has exited her comfort zone to make an international name for herself.
She has a few fashion seasons under her belt from showcasing her own personal collection to working for leading fashion designers & fashion pioneers all around the world like ‘India Bridal Fashion Week’, ‘House of Masaba’, ‘Naeem Khan’, ‘Hanley’, ‘Camuto Group’ and ‘AGAATI’ just to name a few.
Back in 2013, Janvi launched her platform by debuting a mini collection at ‘Bright, Young things 2013’ that may have created a shift in the Indian fashion society. Following its success, Janvi was recruited by ‘India Bridal Fashion Week’ – the only bridal fashion week in India and furthermore ‘House of Masaba’ – the biggest fashion designer in India known for her over the top and quirky prints and styles. Janvi quickly began to rise up in each company. So much so, that at ‘House of Masaba’ Janvi was single handedly responsible for the collaboration between ‘Fiama Di Wills’ and ‘House of Masaba’ that was publicized all over the country. She was also apart of the launch of a sub-line called ‘Masaba Lite’ that was geared to another demographic.
From the time Janvi was a little girl, she knew fashion was her calling, she spent most of her early days around fashionistas who influenced her artistic intelligence. Ms. Ghatalia has now moved on to bigger and brighter things. She has worked for one of the biggest fashion designers in New York – ‘Naeem Khan’ where she worked on the Resort ’16 collection and one of her biggest achievements at the fashion house was working on a dress that was worn by first daughter Sasha Obama at the 2016 State Dinner.
Janvi now holds a reputable position at one of the biggest fashion firms in America – The Camuto Group and freelances on the side for a sustainable fashion clothing line based in California called AGAATI. Changing the rules and challenging her imagination is what Janvi does best. Her future holds opportunities and possibilities just waiting to happen.
